  1. Just beginning to learn the organ after studying piano for over 30 years, Mr. Swann's improvisational skills are awesome. He "owns" the Crystal Cathedral organ. The registrations he uses are perfectly fit for each hymn. The hymns are everything from meditative to joyfully invigorating. Great contrasts that draw you to listen again and again. Bravo!4/5(3).

  3. Hymns at Crystal Cathedral - Frederick Swann. 20 hymns for solo organ arranged and performed by Frederick Swann. Each hymn includes a short introduction, a stanza, an improvisatory and/or modulatory interlude, and a final stanza.
  4. All of the hymns are not just the standard hymns being played, but arrangements of those hymns by Frederick Swann. I did not care for his arrangements at all. Also, I am quite sure the pipe organ at the Crystal Cathedral is beautiful and gorgeous sounding, but I didn't get that from the stops that this organist chose/5(10).
  5. Thanks very much. I did find a Crystal Cathedral Golden Collection (Ed. by Swann and Thallander) on line for $ It's got 50 of the all time great hymns.
  6. Text: This text by Fanny Crosby was first published in William H. Doane’s collection, Songs of Devotion, in Most hymnals contain the original three verses and chorus, though the Presbyterian Hymnal doesn’t include the original second verse, and Rejoice in the Lord doesn’t include the refrain. Some hymnals add the chorus as an extension of each verse.
  7. Timeless, beautiful hymn.:D Music not mine. For church/fellowship use.:] I got the glitter video background here:
  8. To God be the glory, great things he hath done! So loved he the world that he gave us his Son, who yielded his life an atonement for sin, and opened the lifegate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth .
